Job Title: Technical Director

 $18,750 - $33,200

Job Summary:

Technical Director of the Dave Finkelman Auditorium part-time, 10-month position, with salary range of $18,750 - $33,200, based on education and experience. Work performed in a theater, stage, production or office environment. Hours of work will vary with a combination of day, evening, and weekend according to the needs of the College.

Duties/Physical Demands:

Direct the planning and execution of lighting, sound, and stage setup for all events in the facility based on advance technical riders, contracts and information from users; hire, schedule, train, and supervise student technician staff to meet the service needs of all the events; provide written and verbal information and recommendations for facility and equipment specifications and use, as well as cost estimates as needed, to campus management and facility users; provide reports and documentation which reflects staffing, materials, equipment and other costs associated with an event’s production and operation of the facility; provide regular maintenance or recommend service of all staging equipment and technical spaces; performs other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Theater or related field and experience in technical directing or other related work including knowledge of various lighting, sound and rigging equipment. This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.)

Desired Qualifications:

Desire: Master’s Degree in Theater or related field; professional experience including comprehensive knowledge of various lighting, sound and rigging equipment.
