Job Title: Assistant Director for Communications & Marketing
Job Summary:

Assistant Director for Communications and Marketing to develop, implement and create content for a comprehensive plan for effective internal and external information dissemination, promotion and marketing for curricular and co-curricular programs within Global Initiatives, with an emphasis on education abroad (including the Miami University Dolibois European Center) and international student services using websites, social media, electronic and print communications; professionally execute communications according to institutional, industry and accessibility standards, aligning with university brand standards and policies, in a work environment that involves multiple assignments and tight deadlines; maintain skill set of progressive and innovative promotion, marketing and information design techniques to implement into work; maintain and assess audience needs and design marketing and promotion materials accordingly; recruit, hire, train, and supervise team of student employees and/or interns; other marking, promotion, and public relations duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Interactive Media Studies, Technical Writing, Strategic Communications, or related field; one year of professional experience; working knowledge of HTML and website maintenance; writing and editing experience; organization skills that includes acute attention to detail and an ability to multitask; ability to work independently and take initiative in creating new web content; ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with a broad range of internal and external constituencies and work as part of a cross-functional team; excellent time management skills. Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

Master’s degree in related field; one to three years of experience in the maintenance of websites within higher education; experience working with and providing guidance to graphic designers, editors, IT specialists, or related positions; experience developing information architecture; knowledge of 508 Accessibility standards; demonstrated knowledge of content management systems, such as Cascade Server, Drupal, and WordPress; demonstrated knowledge of email automation platforms, such as Emma; demonstrated application of Google Analytics.
