Salary/Grade:

$11.30 - $12.30 / hr

Hours per week:

6-20

12 months, can be renewed

Job Summary:

The Biology department’s greenhouse needs student workers to assist with the care of plants and with the upkeep of the greenhouse and outdoor garden area.

Essential Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to: plant care: watering plants, pruning, dividing, propagating plants. Helping to maintain the organization and cleanliness of the greenhouse, grow rooms and storage areas: weeding grow rooms, sweeping floors, emptying bins and trash to proper locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

At times work will include working with others including faculty, undergrad and graduate students. The greenhouse conditions can vary in temperature and can be hot and humid at times. Includes outdoor work in the garden area and occasional work in the Pistell greenhouse in Pearson Hall..

Availability to work as needed on weekends, during the semester breaks and occasional holidays is required. Experience with plant care is preferred.
