Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor

Job Summary:

Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach introductory and intermediate level undergraduate ASL courses and Deaf Culture courses and advise students beginning in the Fall semester, August, 2023.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Science in Deaf Studies, Interpreting, Deaf Education, American Sign Language (ASL) or closely related field by the date of appointment for appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor.  Bachelor’s degree in Science in Deaf Studies, Interpreting, Deaf Education, American Sign Language (ASL) or closely related field by the date of appointment and appropriate certification or demonstration of ASL fluency plus two years of professional experience, with a preference for teaching experience to be appointed as an Instructor. Native or near-native fluency in ASL.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with a master’s degree in Science in Deaf Studies, Interpreting, Deaf Education, American Sign Language (ASL) or closely related field. Two years of highly-qualified college teaching experience, especially with online instruction.
