Assistant Teaching Professor/Assistant Lecturer

Job Summary:

Assistant Teaching Professor/Assistant Lecturer (non-tenure track) to teach undergraduate mathematics content courses for K-9 preservice teachers in the Department of Mathematics; and provide service to the profession of teaching, department, college, and/or institution.  Position begins August 2023.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in mathematics education or closely related field by date of appointment for an appointment as Assistant Teaching Professor; Master's degree in mathematics education or closely related field by date of appointment for an appointment as Assistant Lecturer. Teaching experience is required for both positions.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime and indefinite basis.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with teaching experience in a K-12 setting that includes using inquiry-based methods and developing curriculum; willingness to collaborate with mathematics education colleagues in the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Teaching, Curriculum, and Educational Inquiry; experience facilitating professional development for teachers; and familiarity with grant writing.
