Regional Athletics Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Regional Athletics Operations Manager will report to the Regional Director of Athletics and will assist the regional director in the coordination of athletic and recreation program operations. The role provides the oversight of athletic facilities for Miami University’s Regional Campuses, including gymnasium facility (athletics, exercise rooms, KNH classrooms, aerobics classroom, intramural/pickup games) for student-athletes, students, staff, faculty, and occasionally community. The position requires working evenings and weekends based on athletic home games, competitions, and events.

Duties/Physical Demands:

The Regional Athletics Operations Manager:
• Serves as the athletics and recreational sports lead for the campus and gymnasium including exercise facilities, classrooms, court equipment, programs, and events
• Serves as on-site manager for the gymnasium facility. Oversees all home athletic events. Coordinates all workers, officials, admission, concessions, opposing teams, additional entertainment, and set-up and tear-down of equipment (may require working evenings and weekends)
• Provides on-site management and coordination of event planning for all sporting events and department events including, but not limited to, travel accommodations for away games, staffing for home games, and set-up and tear-down of equipment (may require working evenings and weekends)
• Point of contact for athletic inquiries and acts as athletics primary contact, for students, coaches, and tournament coordinators, exercising authority on issues that impact the department
• Serves as the onsite manager and campus athletics lead, participates in hiring, supervision, scheduling, training and evaluation of coaches
• Recruits, hires, trains and supervises all student workers for the gymnasium facility, athletic games and competitions, and athletic events
• Enforces all rules, by-laws, and policies set forth by Miami University and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and submits/maintains required information, as necessary
• Attends regional campus events as a representative of the athletic department, including but not limited to, orientations, campus visits, spring fling, fall fest, etc.
• Ensures compliance with student-athlete eligibility and maintains required eligibility documents
• Completes Title IX/Clery Act training and provides data to Miami University Clery Act Coordinator in Oxford.
• Acts as the liaison between our athletic training/sports medicine providers (Kettering Health Network) and the athletic department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree; two years’ experience working in Athletics or a closely related field (can be earned concurrently while participating in undergraduate study).

Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
