Job Title: Associate Dean -Graduate School

Job Summary:

The Associate Dean is expected to work as a full partner with the Dean to administer and communicate the policies and procedures of the Graduate School. This is an 80%-time appointment in the Graduate School.

Duties/Physical Demands:

The Associate Dean will work with programs to revise and develop new graduate programs and certificates and to shepherd them through the university and CCGS approval processes; lead the Graduate school’s DE&I efforts; serve as advisor to graduate student associations; work with Graduate school staff to approve graduate committees, faculty level status, plan of study changes, credit hour transfers, undergraduate permissions, and any other graduate school forms; organize and run orientation sessions; review and edit General Bulletin; oversee Graduate school dashboards; organize annual Graduate Research Forum; provide support to all graduate directors and graduate programs; participate in commencement ceremonies; work with other Graduate School staff on office duties; and complete other duties as assigned by the Dean of the Graduate School.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Appropriate terminal degree in any discipline within the University; current tenure appointment at Miami University; Graduate Level A status; administrative experience; and experience with graduate education.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills. Experience in program enhancement and graduate student mentoring.
