Marketing Manager

Job Summary:

The Marketing Manager is a strategic partner contributing to marketing and communication strategies in support of the Graduate School’s goals and objectives to generate increased visibility, awareness, and enrollment. The Marketing Manager works to ensure web content is timely, accurate, and optimized for search engines. The Marketing Manager is a self-starter with a high level of initiative and a proven proactive thinker who works in coordination with other communications leads across the University and Graduate School and reports to the Director of Strategic Digital Marketing and Communication in Academic Affairs. Eligible for hybrid (2 days/week remote).

Duties/Physical Demands:

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Project management and quality assurance of a wide array of marketing materials, including digital and print advertising, video content, email campaigns, collateral, web content, direct mail, and more.
• Collaborate with faculty and program directors to recommend and implement strategic, program-specific marketing campaigns.
• Establish strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, including program directors, digital marketing, web marketing, analytics, admissions, and program delivery.
• Implement lead nurturing campaigns that will drive interest for graduate programs; monitor market feedback and optimize campaigns accordingly.
• Assist program directors in thinking through strategic communications tactics and creative messaging that support their enrollment and retention efforts
• Develop strategic marketing plans
• Provide guidance to internal programs on effective communications efforts that increase program visibility and messaging impact
• Perform special projects as assigned
• Interface with marketing vendors.

Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS degree or equivalent in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or closely related fields, 2+ years professional experience in a marketing or communications, experience working with social media platforms.

Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with knowledge of social media analytics, social media publishing tools, web analytics, and tracking technologies; familiarity with desktop publishing and web development software (Adobe, WordPress, etc.); past higher education experience, particularly with enrollment marketing; a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); excellent relationship management skills, proven project management skills, creative
problem-solving skills, strong analytical ability, and strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to respond independently and with flexibility under tight deadlines; strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills; proven ability to work collaboratively and proactively network across departments to ensure consistency in communications; exceptional judgment in messaging and communication tactics; high detail-orientation with superb organizational skills, and a strong ability to multi-task with a results-oriented mindset; knowledge of marketing and communications principles including research, promotions, traditional and social media, materials production, and related technology required; ability to operate independently or as part of a team with equal success.
