Job Title: Neuroscience Postdoctoral Fellow
Job Summary:

The McMurray Lab at Miami University is searching for a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to their ongoing behavioral neuroscience research. This position is to support our animal (rat) research on the immediate and lasting neurocognitive effects of psychedelics (including psilocybin). This research will rely on a variety of behavioral and systems-level neuroscience methods, including operant and non-operant behavioral tests, molecular/histological, chemogenetic, and in vivo electrophysiology and fiber photometry methods.
This position is funded through a sponsored research agreement between Miami University and PsyBio Therapeutics, Inc. (psybiolife.com) and will be for a 1-year term, with the option for renewal contingent on performance.


The McMurray Lab is a relatively small, but growing lab in the Department of Psychology. Miami University is a top ranked liberal arts college located in Oxford, OH. Duties/Physical Demands:

Works independently or as part of a team to design, implement, and disseminate research aligned with the program’s research agenda. Participates in the development and submission of proposals for grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements. Expected to serve as first author on reports and publications.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD (by date of appointment) in psychology, biology, neuroscience, or related areas; experience in animal handling, drug administration, and surgery; familiarity with a range of immunohistochemistry techniques. Applicant must have strong organizational capability and experience with data analysis and presentation.

This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with experience with animal behavioral assessment (both operant and non-operant) and in vivo assessment of neurophysiology (electrophysiology or photometry). Individuals with existing expertise and interest in behavioral neuroscience, pharmacology, and analysis of brain circuits & pathways.
