Maintenance/Repair Technician, Senior


$14.65 hr/F2

Job Summary: Performs a variety of mechanical tasks related to repairing and maintaining commercial foodservice and HVAC equipment.
Duties/Physical Demands:

Reviews work orders; conducts appliance diagnosis; determines proper repair procedures; estimates time and materials needed
Performs repair work; unstops sinks and other plumbing fixtures; repairs steam valves; replaces the motor and pumps on commercial foodservice equipment; repairs electric switches and receptacles
Record all activities related to repairs
Maintain a high level of skill and proficiency in appliance repair
Plans and conducts a comprehensive preventive maintenance program
Cleans and maintains tools and equipment
Meet productivity and efficiency goals as established
Have knowledge of and follow safety procedures and constant awareness for personal safety and safety of others
May include building and grounds custodial work as required

Minimum Qualifications:

HS Diploma or Ged
One Year of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and 2 years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability/experience diagnosing and repairing commercial foodservice equipment
Have and maintain a valid state driver's license
Ability to be reached in case of emergency repairs as needed (including nights/weekends)

Desired Qualifications:

2+ years of experience diagnosing and repairing commercial foodservice equipment
Certification in appliance repair
CFC Certification or ability to obtain with 6 months of hire
Basic Computer Skills


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of commercial foodservice equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas stove, and ovens, steams, warmers, and fryers.
Knowledge of electricity and plumbing repair
Ability to read schematics
Ability to use a wide range of hand tools and power tools

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

Continuous standing or walking, frequent climbing, and lifting of materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. Some exposure to several unpleasant elements which are particularly disagreeable.
