Job Title: Student Master 1 Undergrad – Graphic Design Assistant
Salary/Grade:

9.50/hr - 10.60/hr

Job Summary:

 

Generate graphics and production art in support of External Relations and Communications at Miami University Regionals.

Work performed is highly complex and requires extensive training (either coursework or in-house departmental training).
Work is done independently of supervision.

For Academic and Administrative Assistance settings, the student must:
Engage in web authoring, JAVA, SQL, Basic C++, and create databases using various software packages.
Provide support for divisional/departmental services.
Provide supervisory functions including, but not limited to, scheduling, determining training needs, preparing training materials, and conducting training sessions.
Demonstrate evidence of advanced technical and customer support leadership, skills in mentoring, training, expert management, and intermediate business.

 

Duties/Physical Demands:

1. Produce original artwork through computer graphics and multimedia production.
2. Meet with clients to better understand their needs.
3. Maintain files according to the standard operating procedure (for later retrieval and updating), clearing out outdated files, and updating computer software with the assistance of technology services.
4. Participate in computer skills training and keep current with updates.
5. Maintain records in the supervisor's absence as required.
6. Participate in cross-functional projects.
7. Perform related duties as required or assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a student at Miami University available on the Hamilton campus during normal business hours (9am–5pm). Proficiency in computer programs used for graphic design and page layout.

 

Desired Qualifications:

Experience as a Miami University Regionals student with the goal of continuing their education at the Regionals campuses. A recommendation by a faculty or staff member within the related field of design, the arts, and/or communication.

• Proficiency with computers
• Proficiency with computer programs used for design
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to work independently in a team environment
• Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
