Job Title: Acting Associate Dean of the Graduate School
Job Summary:

Temporary appointment; 50-80% time, 7 months in the Graduate School; 20-50% time in home department in academic year.

Duties/Physical Demands:

The Acting Associate Dean is expected to work as a full partner with the Interim Dean to administer the policies and procedures of the Graduate School; assist individual programs and departments with strengthening their graduate programs in ways that are consistent with the mission of the university and responsive to emerging intellectual areas; supervise the activities of the Graduate School's Program Associate; serve as the University coordinator for and representative to the Chancellor's Council on Graduate Studies (CCGS); review all Graduate School applicants for conditional admissions; review all nominations for Graduate Faculty status; serve on Graduate Council; act as the Chairperson for the Financial Aid Programs within the Graduate School including the Grant-in-Aid Committee, Academic Achievement Assistantships, Achievement Awards, and Marjorie Post Farrington Scholarship; and other duties as assigned by the Interim Dean of the Graduate School.

Minimum Qualifications:

Appropriate terminal degree in any discipline within the university; current tenured appointment at Miami University; Graduate Level A status; administrative experience; and experience with graduate education. Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in program enhancement and graduate student mentoring. Experience with electronic databases and constituent relations management tools.
