Job Title: Student Assistant - Residence Life

$8.55/hr - $9.65/hr

Job Summary:

The Student Assistant is expected to contribute to the effective & efficient operation of the central office of the Office of Residence Life, 211 Warfield Hall. The Student Assistant will also complete work in the Center for Academic Initiatives (the Center) including creating bulletin boards, assisting ORL staff with resources, laminating, and other special projects. Because some information handled by Student Assistants is sensitive, Student Assistants are expected to maintain confidentiality about records a& other materials. Attention to detail, ability to respond to telephone calls in a pleasant, helpful manner, & flexibility in day-to-day assignments also is required.
Hours of employment are between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Student Assistants should be able to work between 10-15 hours a week minimally with the work schedule adjusted to accommodate classes.


Duties/Physical Demands:

Greeting the public, answering & transferring telephone calls, sorting/handling mail, assisting with administrative projects, running errands on campus as needed, copying & collating materials, filing, and other miscellaneous tasks.


Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge of basic office equipment, Cicso phone system, copier/scanner, fax machine, laminating machine.
