Job Title: Graphic Designer Student Associate

8.70/hr - 9.80/hr

Job Summary:

Our Student Associates are important members of the communications, marketing and events team. The Graphic Designer Student Associate is responsible for providing support to the marketing and communications department through a variety of channels; print, digital, web and video. The Graphic Designer Student Associate will report to the Design Manager and will assist the creative team with the development, design and production of core Miami University graphics, logos, collateral event materials as well as a variety of other creative tasks as assigned.

We look for students who want to work, who are eager and interested in learning new things, and who have a passion for design. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on work experience here at Miami University while completing your degree.

Duties/Physical Demands:

• Creation of and updates to various print and event materials such as signage, letters, postcards, invitations, newsletters, programs and others as assigned;
• Creation of and updates to various digital materials such as social media posts, website graphics, video content and others as assigned;
• Creation of various logos for products;
• Preparing design files for production;
• Shoot photography during on-campus events;
• Excellent hand craft skills and attention to detail;

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be proficient using design programs within Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Must be proficient working on a Mac operating system.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified time frames.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Must submit a portfolio of work.
