Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow
Job Summary:

The Liu Laboratory in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to support innovative research aimed at developing novel organic transformations. The position is full-time for one year with renewal, dependent upon satisfactory annual review and funding.

Duties/Physical Demands:
  • Assist with the development of new organic chemistry reactions
  • Maintain an accurate and detailed laboratory notebook of all experiments performed and provide sufficient details to ensure methods and results can be duplicated by others
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Prepare graphical representations of experimental data
  • Collect and analyze experimental data
Minimum Qualifications:
  • PhD in Chemistry
  • Five or more years of laboratory experience
  • Strong publication in organic methodology development
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Attention to detail and execution of work protocols in a reproducible fashion
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with computers required
Desired Qualifications:

Experience with any of the following: organic methodology development, electro-organic synthesis, electrochemistry.
