Job Title: Director of Academic Personnel Services
Job Summary:

Provide administrative management of the academic appointment and reappointment processes for faculty, graduate assistants and unclassified staff in Academic Affairs; oversee the processes to request personnel changes, salary/title adjustments, leaves of absence; oversee annual increment process efficiently while adhering to University policies; maintain, enhance and implement protocols for searches and onboarding of faculty and staff to include monitoring immigration matters and visa sponsorships; collaborate with other functional University offices and serve as a resource regarding University policies and procedures; communicate to faculty, staff and supervisors in Academic Affairs regarding policies, compliance matters and procedures affecting personnel issues; ensure adherence to local/state and federal labor laws and University policies; manage and supervise hourly and salaried staff; other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and eight years of professional experience in a directly related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external constituents
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in a high-volume, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in delicate situations
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships while maintaining highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism and quality service to constituents
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in human resources or business administration
  • SHRM/HRCI certification
  • Knowledge of faculty and university policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of structure and practices of departments in Academic Affairs
