Job Title: Intercultural Ambassador - Student Associate

8.70/hr - 9.80/hr

Job Summary:

The undergraduate student works with the Center for American and World Cultures in the promotion and marketing of co-curricular, and public outreach programs and services, assists in data-collection, data-representation and assessment, and performs other duties, as assigned.

Essential functions
* Post events on university and community calendars, other calendars as assigned, and ensure content is timely. Perform weekly audits of the calendars.
* Assist in maintaining and updating text-content on social media promotional outlets.
* Coordinate and monitor on campus and off-campus postings, distribution, and mailing of posters, fliers, and other promotional materials.
* Perform tasks related to photographic coverage of co-curricular programs and events, and collaborate with the organization and catalog of event’s photography inventory and digital archives.
* Compile data and assist in researching and collecting data for news reports, and other assigned projects.
* Assist in applying surveys and compiling, analyzing and representing data.
* Assist with the organization, and inventory of co-curricular programs’ artifacts and materials.
* Coordinate the recruitment of volunteers for assigned co-curricular programs.
* Perform general clerical duties, as needed.
* Assist the CAWC associate director, as needed.

Availability to work beyond weekly schedule for special events (co-curricular programming).

Work assignments require limited direction and supervision.
Experience or specialized knowledge in the area required.
Ability to provide training or tutorial consultation for employees or students.
Assist faculty in planning or producing instructional materials.
Work directly with management in technical tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Experience related to social media technology for marketing purposes (news, reports, databases, on-line publications, communications technologies, and information management).
* Demonstrated computer skills particularly on graphic design for promotional and informational materials (e.g., newsletter, brochure, fliers).
* Effective interpersonal and oral/written English communication skills and experience.
* Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
* Be able to multi-task efficiently.
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage expectations.
* Ability to be flexible with projects and work on multiple projects both independently and collaboratively.
* Demonstrated ability and experience working with persons of diverse nationalities, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds in collaborative projects.
*Interest in issues related to cultural diversity & inclusion, intercultural engagement, and global learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in technology journalism or computer science.
* Additional foreign language (reading, some speaking and writing).
* Experience with research methods of data collection, organization, and presentation.
