Job Title: Student Library Associate - Hamilton
Salary/Grade:

8.70/hr - 9.80/hr

Job Summary:

The person in this position, under the supervision of the Library Associate, is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the library for use by Miami students, faculty, staff, and the community. The smooth operation of the library is critical to the Hamilton Campus, which places this position in a high profile public service area of the library. All applicants must be a registered student at a higher education institution.

Duties and Responsibilities

Communicating appropriately with the library patrons
Checking library materials in and out
Maintaining the bookshelves
Assisting with the circulation process (including books, digital equipment, reserves, Interlibrary Loan, and OhioLINK items)
Other duties as assigned.

Work assignments require limited direction and supervision.
Experience or specialized knowledge in the area required.
Ability to provide training or tutorial consultation for employees or students.
Assist faculty in planning or producing instructional materials.
Work directly with management in technical tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to be flexible in unpredicted situations and changing schedules
Courteous and attentive communication with patrons, supervisors, and co-workers
Ability to work weekends and evenings
Recognition of, and agreement with, the libraries service mission
