Michelle Thomas, Director of Student Development and Diversity at the Farmer School of Business is hiring 5 Student Ambassadors/Chaperones for Passport Boot Camp which takes place Sunday, August 15- Wednesday, August 18. Passport Ambassadors will chaperone 25 incoming freshmen during all daytime and evening activities including lunches, dinners, presentations, and workshops throughout the four days starting Sunday, August 15-Wednesday, August 18. Pay rate is $500. All Passport Ambassadors will have all meals covered (on-campus program meals & dining halls only) from Sat, August 14-Wednesday, August 20. Early move-in fees will be covered from Sat, August 14-Wednesday, August 20 for those Ambassadors living in a residence hall during the fall semester. If you are not living in a residence hall in the fall, please indicate that in your application. We will try to arrange accommodations for you. Interviews for the 5 positions will be conducted. Student Specialist-Building Manager

Student Building Managers are responsible for daily management of the Armstrong Student Center. They must maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times and must be able to make independent decisions when full-time staff are not on site. Responsibilities include: -Supporting Event Production Team in providing event, furniture and A/V set-up and tear down. -Supporting ASC Ambassadors working the information desk. -Providing outstanding customer service to all users of the building. -Ensuring a safe and clean environment. This does involve some cleaning. -Taking the lead in emergency situations. -Providing security for the building by monitoring building use, locking and unlocking spaces as needed and reporting damage, custodial and maintenance issues. -Conducting regular building rounds. -One year full time enrollment on the Oxford campus required, knowledge of campus and student involvement preferred. Work assignments require advanced knowledge, skills, or abilities. Some independent judgment or initiative. A considerable knowledge of the work process as obtained through on-the-job training. May involve supervisory responsibilities for an activity of limited scope. May require a significant amount of physical exertion, adverse hour, or working conditions.

Student Specialist Event Production Team

Event Production Team (EPT) members support the event production process of all events in the Armstrong Student Center. This position works behind-the-scenes in order for successful events to occur in the Armstrong Student Center. Responsibilities include: -Provide technical support for events in ASC through knowledge of A/V equipment including sound, projection and lighting with limited supervision. -Help set event spaces for upcoming events including moving tables, chairs, stage pieces, podiums and other room pieces that weigh up to 50 pounds; sets can occur 24 hours a day based on needs for events. -Provide excellent customer service during all events in ASC. -Know troubleshooting procedures for all Armstrong equipment. -Ensure a clean and safe space by cleaning event spaces. -Report equipment damage to professional staff members as required. -Other duties as assigned.
