Job Title: Student Assistant- TLC Desk Worker - Middletown
Salary/Grade:

$8.55/hr - $9.65/hr

Job Summary:

Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Tutoring & Learning Center- Middletown Campus, and providing excellent front line customer service and support for students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities include the following:
Answering phones
Assisting visitors and callers with appointment scheduling
Directing visitors to appropriate campus resources and information
Monitoring tutoring center
Proctoring testing
Data entry
Copying, filing, other administrative tasks as needed
Additional projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

During the academic year, Miami University students must be registered for a minimum of six credit hours per term (in a degree seeking program) to be eligible to work as a student employee. Exceptions can be made for one (1) semester, for students who need less than six credit hours to graduate by submitting a written request for review to studentjobs@miamioh.edu prior to the student working.
During the summer, Miami University students must be registered for the current or upcoming term (in a degree seeking program) to be eligible to work as a student employee.
Prior customer service experience; retail/office experience preferred; strong organizational and/or leadership skills from any employment or volunteer position will be considered. Successful applicants will be detail oriented, self-directed, and friendly.
Minimum qualification include:
Basic computing skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive: Google sheets, Google Docs.
Average typing speed
Good academic standing
Reliable with excellent attendance habits
Detail oriented
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Courteous, welcoming demeanor and dedication to assist students, faculty, and staff
Ability to handle information of a confidential and/or sensitive nature requiring diplomacy and discretion
Self-motivated with solid organizational and customer service skills

Ability to work lunch shifts
Data entry experience
Experience with appointment scheduling programs
Ability to work well under stress and time pressure
Ability to work well independently and with minimal instruction
