Job Summary:

 

Assistant Professor (tenure-track) to teach theatre courses including costume design and other courses according to the needs of the department; maintain a creative and research agenda; advise students; and provide service to the institution.

The department has a B.A. program and is committed to cultivating exchange between theatre studies and skills-based training to produce students who are civically engaged.

Faculty in the department value sustainability and interdisciplinarity and are committed to the development of new and devised work including collaborations with other departments in the division. Faculty and staff in the Department of Theatre are committed to diversity and inclusive excellence, and are interested in projects that intentionally explore representations of race, culture, and gender.

Duties:

Teach theatre courses including costume design and other courses according to the needs of the department; maintain a creative and research agenda; advise students; and provide service to the institution.

Minimum Qualifications:

MFA in costume design, theatrical design with an emphasis in costume, or scenography by date of appointment.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with a record of effective teaching; experience and engagement in the profession; interest in a secondary area of design or other areas of theatre artistry; a research/creative agenda that incorporates devising, community-based theatre, African-American theatre, Latinx theatre, and LGBTQ+ theatre, international theatre, and/or other contemporary practices; or membership in USITT and/or USAA.
