Job Title: Student Assistant - Communications & Marketing
Salary/Grade:

$8.55/hr - $9.65/hr

Job Summary:

Basic news writing and news office support. Writing and researching mid-level student and faculty achievements and events and sometimes feature-length stories; and story support functions such as updating departmental backgrounders and finding background information for stories. Post items to our news and recognition site. We'll provide supportive guidance, AP style training, and proofreading.
Work assignments are completed under close supervision.
Procedures are well established.
Employees typically follow well-defined policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word
Knowledge and/or coursework in Journalism and/or strategic communications
Solid writing skills, timeliness and accuracy a must.

Desired Qualifications:

Also desirable, digital storytelling experience and/or audio-video editing skills.
