Assistant/Associate Professor

Job Summary:

Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure-track) in Student Affairs in Higher Education.  Appointment begins August 2020 for 2020-2021 academic year.

This position has the potential to be part of a cluster hire of faculty in the College of Education, Health and Society for successful diverse candidates whose research, teaching and/or service connects to a theme of promoting Socially Just Communities (e.g., participatory community research, mutually beneficial university-community partnerships including community engagement, service learning, and collaborations with clinical/practice courses/training) consistent with our CEHS Institute for Community Justice and Wellbeing.

Duties:

Teach in the Student Affairs and Higher Education program; maintain an active research agenda; advise and mentor students and supervise dissertations; and provide service to the institution.  Possibilities for teaching include the areas of student affairs leadership; diversity, equity, and inclusion; student development theory; and research methods.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Student Affairs and Higher Education or closely related field by date of appointment; evidence of excellence in teaching.  For appointment as Associate Professor, require evidence of established record of research publication.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates with strong teaching experience; whose research is centered in questions of diversity, equity, and access issues in higher education; or with student affairs experience.
