Global Programs Coordinator

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Director of Education Abroad, the Global Programs Coordinator helps to administer Miami customized study abroad and away programs and coordinates many aspects of program planning and implementation, including program structure and budgeting, faculty and student outreach, and program evaluation. The Coordinator will support faculty and academic units to develop and re-develop programs that are accessible, affordable, and academically rigorous in alignment with institutional strategic goals.

Duties/Physical Demands:
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and student leaders of credit and non-credit education abroad and away programs to develop, launch, and manage a large portfolio of effective and strategic academic, internship, and experiential learning opportunities
  • Consult with program directors about program proposals, recruitment/outreach, application review, pre-departure orientation, on-site logistics and policies
  • Work with program directors to develop and implement programs and budgets according to university policies and procedures
  • Support program logistics, the procurement and contract process, and compliance with federal and other requirements
  • Manage administrative issues
  • Communicate policies, procedures, and deadlines to students and faculty
  • Serve on committees as needed
  • Use Terra Dotta – StudioAbroad to help execute the administrator, program director and student aspects of program management
  • Coordinate with key academic advisors, faculty, and departments on campus during program development, promotion and advising
  • Collaborate in the development of marketing and promotion plans to promote programs and recruit students
  • Conduct and coordinate study abroad advising toward successful enrollment management and admissions for customized study abroad and away programs
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree; three years of experience in education abroad; familiarity with Clery Act and/or other compliance and procurement/contracting requirements, and their application to programs abroad and in the US; program planning experience; demonstrated ability to proactively manage complex and multiple tasks with minimal supervision; demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations of learners and associates; prior experience living and/or studying abroad; excellent data management, time management, organization, and communication skills. Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

Five years of experience in education abroad faculty led programming, global internships, or student advising; experience with programming and recruitment strategy to increase diversity in study abroad; forum on Education Abroad certification or training; Terra Dotta – StudioAbroad experience.
