Job Title:

Geochemistry Lab Manager

Job Summary:

Manage trace metal geochemistry, ICP-OES/MS and powder XRD labs.

Duties:

Training and supervision of lab users, laboratory maintenance, data quality assurance, assistance in teaching laboratory-based courses, oversight of radiation and environmental health and safety compliance, and laboratory financial management. Laboratory technique development and adaptation for analysis of diverse geologic and environmental materials expected, with opportunities to pursue research and external funding.

Minimum Qualifications:

M.S. or Ph.D. in geology or related field, at least four years of experience in major and trace element analysis of geologic materials by plasma techniques at the time of the appointment; proven experience in successful training and supervision of geochemistry lab users.  Position not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

Ph.D. in geology or related field; experience in LA-ICP-MS, powder XRD and HPLC analysis; expertise in laboratory technique development, and electrical and mechanical abilities.
