Associate Director Marketing & In-game Presentation

Job Summary: This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.

Duties/Physical Demands:
Serve as the primary point person behind the department’s in-game production efforts. Oversee event presentation development and execution for all MU athletics teams with a primary focus on directing the game presentation for football, basketball and ice hockey.
Produce consistent game presentation elements in assigned sports: production to include writing and updating run-of-show documents (timeliness) and PA scripts; managing and operating video board (where applicable); assisting with the creation and production of video board content for in-game use (where applicable); developing sponsor-related in-game promotions; coordinating sprite elements on game days including music/sound effects; Pep Band, Cheer and Swoop (mascot), uphold University mission through work performed; and other duties as assigned.
Supervise a select team of interns to oversee game day productions.
Work collaboratively with Communications, Broadcasting, and various sports to coordinate the planning and implementation of in-game activities and promotions that identify creative and innovative programs that engage both existing and potential fans, resulting in an entertaining atmosphere and the encourages spectator loyalty and support.
Liaison between Sports Marketing, Development and other external units on campus. Handle special projects assigned from Sports Marketing to assist with revenue generation.
Assist with sponsorship fulfillment responsibilities related to IMG Sorts Properties.
Manage music playlists of all sports including outside contractors.
Assist in the organization and implementation of athletic and special events for the athletic department.
Facilitate communication between internal and external units regarding game day management.
Assist in the continual communications of event information to staff and other constituents.
Assist in trouble shooting and problem solving during events.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in sports administration/management or related field
• Strong computer literacy in Windows, Excel, Word and Publisher as well as internet functions
• In-game event management experience within the NCAA or a professional sporting organization

Desired Qualifications:


• Experience using Click Effects, Daktronics Show Control System or similar
• Minimum of 2-4 years of in-game event management experience within the NCAA or a professional sporting organization
• A graduate degree in sports administration/management or related field
• Experience using graphic design or video editing programs (Adobe Creative Cloud, Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite) or similar
• In-Game Production; including Daktronics Show Control, Venus, V-Play, Sound Director and Click Effects
• Exhibiting strong interpersonal skills, bringing expertise to the organization and best practices to event presentation
