E-Learning Instructional Design Specialist

Job Summary:

E-Learning Instructional Design Specialist (part-time) to partner with faculty developing online courses.

Duties:

Lead the development of online course(s); demonstrate best practices in course design through the production of engaging and accessible course learning experiences; manage multiple projects and timelines, collaborate with stakeholders to execute projects; plan and provide training materials and recommend pedagogical practices to faculty and staff to promote student success with online learning; work collaboratively and advance partnerships with university and campus committees; complete Quality Matters training and administer course checks; perform online and institutional research to aggregate data into final reports to be used in the ongoing accreditation, compliance, and initiative expansion; produce technical written projects that are clear, concise, appropriately detailed, and understandable by diverse audiences; utilize proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and language rules; ensures consistent application of styles and established layout processes; coordinate training and ongoing communication and professional development to ensure pedagogical best practices and student success; continued professional growth and development of professional design skill set(s) for online learning; other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; significant instructional design, graphic design, curriculum development and project management experience; successful teaching and/or training experience; excellent computer skills and proficiency in Course Authoring and Production Tools, Graphic Design Tools, Web Conferencing, Google Tools, Microsoft Suite, Mobile Technologies, Online Research.; Basic proficiency with mobile technologies, online research, learning management system tools to create and manipulate graphical and interactive elements. Strong organization skills with emphasis on being conscientious and detail-oriented. Demonstrate ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work with minimal supervision in a collaborative environment to meet project deadlines.  Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

Master's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or a related field of study; computer skills with Canvas and Articulate products, project management tools, video production and Quality Matters; teaching and/or training experience in K-12 or Higher Ed online; Experience using and/or supporting accessible technologies; knowledge of online learning regulatory and compliance agency requirements including: UDL, ADA, Section 508 compliance, FERPA, and other applicable laws, rules and regulations related to online learning.
